Job Descripton:
Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, creating, testing, debugging and modifying/maintaining programs for a client/server Credit Union Core Processing software application.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Designs the business logic for a client server application (e.g., business objects, database access objects, User Interface modules, coding of complex business processes/specifications, database design and T-SQL coding).
- Codes business logic, GUI interfaces and database interfaces using C# and .NET / Microsoft technologies/methodologies.
- Helps migrate existing VB6 objects to a C# framework.
- Designs and develops elements or portions of GUIs and screens. Develops screen application templates. Designs windows, dialogues, menus and toolbars for complex processes and workflows.
- Develops and coordinates the testing process for small application releases or complex software enhancements and changes.
- Assists in designing the database structure (e.g., modifies a schema, tests changes, recommends standards and procedures).
- Researches and recommends products and new technologies for the client/server environment.
- Researches, diagnoses and resolves hardware, software and systems problems.
- Analyzes and develops recommendations for data structure. Develops and executes test plans and designs test data for software enhancements and changes.
- Tests, debugs and installs to support an organization's client/server software applications.
- Researches and stays current on client/server related issues and technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university in a related discipline
- 5-7 years with 3-4 years experience in client/server programming/development and at least 2 years in GUI design/development or the related business/industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft programming languages (C#, VB, VisualBasic 6, T-SQL)
- In-depth knowledge of client/server principles and methodologies
- In-depth knowledge of Object Oriented Programming design and coding practices
- In-depth knowledge of database concepts and terminology specific to MS SQL Server
- In-depth knowledge of basic GUI design standards and methodologies
- Skill in resolving basic hardware/software problems or malfunctions
- Skill in coding business logic, GUI interfaces and database interfaces
- Skill in independent/solid decision-making and problem solving skills
- Skill in designing windows, dialogues, menus and toolbars
- Ability to define GUI requirements based on user analysis
- Ability to work cooperatively with technical and business personnel in a joint application development approach
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients and public
- Ability to perform well under strict deadlines and in a fast paced environment
- Ability to multi-task
- Experience in the banking-financial industry a plus
